Traditional civilian stoves feature low combustion efficiency and high fuel consumption. The long-term burning of firewood, coal and other fuels generates large amounts of greenhouse gases and particulate pollutants, increasing carbon emissions. Meanwhile, it endangers human health and consumes forest resources, constituting a weak link in grassroots ecological environmental protection and low-carbon emission reduction.
Focusing on the low-carbon upgrading of people’s livelihood energy use, the Clean Stove Improvement Carbon Project promotes high-efficiency, energy-saving and low-emission new clean stoves to replace outdated traditional stoves. The improved stoves optimize the combustion structure and greatly enhance fuel combustion efficiency, which effectively reduces the consumption of firewood, coal and other fuels. It cuts emissions of carbon dioxide, dust and other pollutants from the source and realizes regular and large-scale carbon emission reduction.
The project delivers multiple ecological, livelihood and economic benefits. Ecologically, it continuously reduces regional carbon emissions, decreases vegetation deforestation, and supports ecological protection and the implementation of the dual carbon goals. In terms of people’s livelihood, it greatly reduces indoor oil fume pollution, improves the living environment and protects people’s health. Economically, it helps families save fuel expenses and reduce daily energy use costs, bringing tangible benefits to grassroots people.
In the next step, the project will further promote the popularization and implementation of clean stoves, and carry out regular equipment promotion, operation and maintenance guidance as well as low-carbon publicity. It will gather low-carbon efforts through minor livelihood renovations, advance the green transformation of rural energy use, and facilitate the high-quality and sustainable development of regional ecological environments.
